I offer my prayers for Bishop Orama, that his heart may be turned from hatred of his fellow humans who were made in the image of God. Prayers for those who hear his words, that their hearts might not turn to violence but that they may discern the truth of the Gospel.

I also offer prayers for those taking part in the demonstration in Wheaton. God go with you.

God have mercy on us all.

As I read this, I only feel pity for Archbishop Orama. It appears to me by reading his comments that he has forgotten the Greatest Commandment, that is for all of us to walk in love as Christ loved us (John 13:34; Matthew 22:39). Instead, he has chosen dehumanization and bigotry as his doctrine. It will ultimately be his undoing.

I encourage all of us to pray for him as Jesus told us to do in the Gospels. Love ultimately conquers all and removes all evil from our midst, Amen.

Harry, I might be able to help with housing. I have to fly from NY to Chicago that weekend and will need a place to stay, downtown or with friends. Two beds are as easy as one, plus I'll have a car.

Traveling always takes some arranging for me--when I'm alone in particular because, while mostly controlled, I do have seizures from time, mostly just strange absences from reality.

But if anyone can help me figure out how to get to the demonstration and get home, that would be great. Since my partner is a working priest and cannot take this particular Sunday off, I'll need to catch the train from Lansing to Chicago. And he can't deliver me to Lansing on Sunday, so I'll have to come down on Saturday. Any ideas of decent hotels or B&Bs to stay that will be easy for me to get to the church for service on Sunday morning? Is the demo far from the train station back home?

Anyone going from my part of the world? --Harry

"I think he dost protest too much. He’ll be the next one caught with a big dick in his mouth. Christians are not fit to live in my opinion.

With the witness that "homo-haters" within the Church are giving, I'm not surprised at the disgust non-Christians feel toward believers. It saddens me that "Ye shall know them by their Love..." has been replaced by, "They hate anyone who is different from themselves."

Until hating the disenfranchised has been replaced with "Love thy neighbor...", the light of God's Love through the Church will continue to dim. A very, very sad witness to God's love for all humanity.

Remember the witnessing campaign a few years back: W.W.J.D....."What Would Jesus Do"? Now I'm beginning to see W.W.J.H. signs and insignias used by non-belivers that testify to the enormous failure of the Church in witnessing to the world... Oh! it stands for "Who Would Jesus Hate". The correct answer, of course is: No one, not even the haters!

I sent Archbishop Akinola the following message:

Dear Archbishop Akinola,

A bishop of your church has announced that I, as a gay man, do not have the right to live. I know that you have located personnel and churches here in the United States. Please provide me with reassurance that I am not in danger of assassination from members or clergy of these churches.

I hope that you recognize the considerable trust I have placed in you by giving you my name and address, rendering myself vulnerable to this very danger.
